synopsis

An actress withdraws to a hotel in Venice in order to study the play Miss Julie by Strindberg, that will play for the first time. In the procedure of approaching the role her life becomes complicated as she projects fragments of the play on people she meets. The cruelty of the role allows her sensibility to lead her into inner and often painful pursuits.
