British director Terence Davies adapted Terence Rattigan's play The Deep Blue Sea [trailer, film focus]. Elegantly set in post-war London with its pubs and dark alleys, Rachel Weisz shines as a bourgeois wife of an arrogant judge in a passionless marriage. She meets an ex-RAF pilot (Tom Hiddleston) and together they engage in a destructive affair set in Britain's puritan society.

Davies talked to Cineuropa about the adaptation process and about working with Rachel Weisz. The Deep Blue Sea is part if the programme of the 2012 edition of the Brussels Film Festival.
