The line-up for Kino Pavasaris is taking shape, and votes from 12 renowned film critics have determined what this year’s Critics’ Choice programme will include. Audiences will have the opportunity to see 12 films that have been carefully selected from a list of 52 candidates.

Prominent film critics, eight of whom are members of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI), gave the most votes to the documentary The Pearl Button [+lire aussi :

The critics include Pamela Biénzobas (Chile), Paolo Bertolin (Italy), Esin Kücüktepepinar (Turkey), Pamela Pianezza (France), Carmen Gray (United Kingdom), Tristan Priimägi (Estonia), Laurence Boyce (United Kingdom), Giovanni Ottone (Italy), Raymond Phathanavirangoon (Thailand), Stas Tyrkin (Russia), Ariel Schweitzer (France/Israel) and Javier García Puerto (Spain).

Three of the chosen films have recently been nominated for an Oscar. Embrace of the Serpent and Mustang [+lire aussi :

will be competing in the Best Foreign-language Film category, while Anomalisa could take home an Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film.

The 21st Kino Pavasaris Vilnius International Film Festival will take place from 31 March–14 April.
