After an initial pilot edition in 2015 and further success in 2016, with over 150 accredited professionals visiting from all over Italy, Milano Film Network will continue to run its two day professional pitching and networking event, Milano Industry Days, from 4 to 5 December 2017. The 10 In Progress workshop finalists and the five working copies of feature films selected to compete for the L'Atelier – a support fund for Italian films in post-production – are also due to be presented.

The MFN L'Atelier is the first support fund for Italian feature films in post-production, set up in order to facilitate access to the market and the international festival circuit. In 2017, MFN launched a new partnership with When East Meets West and Trieste Film Festival, along with a collaboration with This is IT, a new section devoted exclusively to fiction features. One of the finalist projects from the MFN L'Atelier will be selected by WEMW and TSFF and presented to This is IT in January 2018. From the 45 post-production films in the bidding, MFN will select five finalists who will present their rough cut to a professional industry audience and compete to win a post-production award. The president of the jury this year is Carlo Chatrian, artistic director of Locarno Festival.

In recent editions, films promoted and backed by L'Atelier have gone on to have careers in international festivals as well as distribution proposals. In the first edition of Atelier 2015, MFN supported films which went on to be selected at Venice (Spira Mirabilis [+lire aussi :
