Just a couple of days after announcing its April slate of funding (see the news), the Nordisk Film & TV Fond has released the names of the recipients of its latest round of financial support, which was decided in May. For this round, the Oslo-based fund will support three fiction feature films, one TV series and four feature-length documentaries with a budget totalling over NOK 11 million (€1.17 million).

Starting with the feature films, Danish director Niels Arden Oplev will adapt the tragic story of freelance photographer Daniel Rye, who was held hostage by ISIS while working in Syria in 2013, in his upcoming biopic Daniel, which will start shooting in October (see the news). Co-produced by Danish outfit Toolbox Film with Cinenic Film (Sweden), Hummelfilm (Norway) and Deluca Film (Denmark), the project has received NOK 2.8 million (€300,000) from the Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
