) as Concetta; Angelica and Tancredi, played in Visconti’s film by Claudia Cardinale and Alain Delon, will be interpreted by Deva Cassel (daughter of Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel) and Saul Nanni (who played Rossi Stuart’s son in Brado). Also in the cast are Paolo Calabresi, Francesco Colella, Astrid Meloni and Greta Esposito.

Written by Richard Warlow (who is also the show’s creator and executive producer) together with Benji Walters, and based on one of the greatest Italian novels of all time, Il Gattopardo is an epic, surprising and sensual tale set in Sicily during the social turmoil of 1860, looking with modern eyes at universal themes that have been handed down for generations: power, love, and the cost of progress. At the heart of the series we find Don Fabrizio Corbera, the unforgettable Prince of Salina, who lives a life steeped in beauty and privilege. But the Sicilian aristocracy feels threatened by Italian unification, and Fabrizio realises that the futures of his lineage and family are in danger. In order not to lose out, Fabrizio will be forced to forge new alliances, even if doing so means going against his own principles, until one day finds himself faced with an apparently impossible choice. Don Fabrizio ha the power to organise a marriage that would save the future of his family, the union between the rich and beautiful Angelica and his nephew Tancredi, but doing so would break the heart of his beloved daughter Concetta.
