Sylvie Verheyde studied geography, music and drawing.
Entre chiens et loups and La Maison verte were highly acclaimed.
Sylvie Verheyde then wrote the screenplay for Un frère, which she went on to direct, benefiting from the "avance sur recettes" subsidy scheme. Emma de Caunes's role also won her the César award for Most Promising Young Actress in 1998.
In 2000, Sylvie Verheyde directed her second feature film, Princesses once again starring Emma de Caunes. She directed Stella in 2008.
