Ulrich Köhler

Ulrich Köhler was born in Marburg/Lahn in 1969, from 1974-79 he lived with his family in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo). He studied art in Quimper (France) from 1989-91 and subsequently philosophy in Hamburg, graduating in visual communications from the College of Fine Arts in the same city in 1998. His multi-award-winning feature film debut BUNGALOW screened in the Panorama section of the Berlinale in 2002; his second feature film, MONTAG KOMMEN DIE FENSTER was shown in the Berlinale’s Forum programme in 2006. Finally, he won the Silver Berlin Bear for SLEEPING SICKNESS (2011) at the 2011 Berlinale. (Source : Berlin Film Festival)
