Alejandro Fernández Almendras

Alejandro Fernández Almendras was born in Chile in 1971. His work, Lo que trae la lluvia (Along Came the Rain, 2007) won the Best Short Film Award at the Latin American Short Film Festival and competed in the official selection of more than 30 festivals. The screenplay of his first film, Huacho, won the Sundance/NHK, the Groupama Gan Pour Le Cinéma and premiered at the Cannes Critics’ Week in 2009. Matar a un hombre (To Kill a Man, 2014) won the Grand Jury Prize and was the film selected to represent Chile at the Academy Awards.
