Patricio Guzmán

Patricio Guzmán (Santiago, Chile, 1941) is mainly known for his documentaries. Six of his works were released at Cannes, particularly including La Batalla de Chile(The Battle of Chile), El Caso Pinochet (The Pinochet Case), Salvador Allende andNostalgia de la Luz (Nostalgia for the Light). With the latter he received the European Film Academy Grand Prix in 2010. He founded the Santiago Documentary Film Festival. The British Film Institute and the Harvard Film Archive have recently run retrospectives on his work. His La Batalla de Chile trilogy is considered to be one of the best documentaries ever made.
