The King’s Speechdi Tom Hooper è in cima alla classifica dei film nominati per la tredicesima edizione dei British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) con otto nomination, tra le quali quella per il miglior film, il miglior regista, la migliore sceneggiatura, il miglior attore e i due migliori attori non protagonisti.

Monsters di Gareth Edwards, Never Let Me Go di Mark Romanek e The Arbor di Clio Barnard hanno ricevuto sei nominations, Four Lion di Chris Morris ne ha avute cinque e quattro sono andate a Another Year di Mike Leigh, Made in Dagenham di Nigel Cole e Brighton Rock di Rowan Joffe.

Le direttrici del BIFA, Johanna von Fischer e Tessa Collinson, hanno annunciato: “Le nomination di quest’anno rispecchiano veramente la produzione del cinema indipendente nel Regno Unito e, a prescindere dal budget, ogni categoria mostra la ricchezza del talento messo al servizio del cinema britannico di qualità”

I vincitori verranno annunciati il 5 dicembre.
