Besides Richard Linklater (see the news), the upcoming Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (29 June–7 July) will honour Academy Award winner and five-time Oscar nominee Barry Levinson, a screenwriter, producer and director. Like William Friedkin, Jerry Schatzberg, Ken Loach and Paul Laverty, Levinson will be crowned with the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema, as his four-time Oscar-winning Rain Man, which also netted the Golden Bear and the David di Donatello Award for Best Foreign Film, celebrates its 30th anniversary.
