There’s a lot of talk these days about filmmakers dipping a toe into the world of TV series, but some also opt for the reverse journey, as was the case for Hervé Hadmar, whose next project, The Silence of the Moon, was one of the 13 feature films selected during the Support Fund for Cinema and Audiovisual Technical Industries in the Ile-de-France Region’s second 2018 session.

Very well-known for the TV series Les Oubliés (2008), Pigalle, la nuit (2009) Signature (2011) and Les Témoins (2015), and the mini-series Au-delà des murs (2016), which he created and directed with Marc Herpoux, Hervé Hadmar is making a return to the film industry, where he first debuted in 1999 with the feature film: Comme un poisson hors de l’eau. His second plunge into the film industry, The Silence of the Moon – which will be produced by Moana Films (Marc Missonnier) and will receive €562,000 in financial support from the region of Ile-de-France – has been in the making for a few years now and was presented by its director as a psychological science-fiction thriller set on the moon, where three astronauts find themselves stranded, with no connection to Earth and only enough oxygen to survive for a further three weeks, while down below them the world seems to be experiencing a series of disturbing explosions...

by Maïmouna Doucouré (Bien ou Bien Productions - €274,000). This last project will be the first feature film by the multi-award-winning filmmaker, whose short film, Maman(s) won a César award in 2017, the Grand Prix at Toronto and the Sundance Jury Prize, where the screenplay for Cuties (co-written with Nathalie Saugeon, Alice Winocour and Valentine Milville) also won a Global Filmmaking Award last year.
