Busy as ever, the French international sales agent Charades looks set to arrive fully armed at the Marché du Film (running 16  -24 May) - unfolding within the 76th Cannes Film Festival - given that five of its films are set to be showcased on the Croisette, three of which in the Official Selection.

Mona Achache’s docudrama Little Girl Blue [+leggi anche:

is especially eye-catching. Following her mother’s death, the director (who turned heads via her fiction films The Hedgehog [+leggi anche:

and Les Gazelles [+leggi anche:

) discovered thousands of photos, letters and recordings, but these buried secrets make her passing even more of an enigma. Through the power of filmmaking and the beauty of acting, Achache brings her mother back to life in order to retrace her journey and find out who she really was… Produced by Les Films du Poisson, co-produced by France 2 Cinéma and Belgium’s Wrong Men, and supported by way of a CNC advance on receipts, the film stars  Marion Cotillard in a lead role. Distribution in French cinemas is entrusted to Tandem.

- French director Sébastien Vanicek’s debut feature film - in the sales agent’s line-up. Shot at the beginning of the year, the film stars Théo Christine, Sofia Lesaffre, Jérôme Niel, Finnegann Oldfield and Lisa Nyarko, and the story revolves around Kaleb who’s about to turn 30 and has never been lonelier. He’s at war with his sister over an inheritance issue and has cut ties with his best friend. Passionate about exotic animals, he comes home one day with a venomous spider, but he accidentally allows it to escape… The film is produced by My Box Films and distributed in France by Tandem.

Last but not least, and not to be forgotten in the Charades’ line-up, are post-production titles such as Meanwhile on Earth [+leggi anche:
