Leonor Watling – Actress
In this film, I play the role of Montse Plaza, a very good friend of Salvador's sisters who also happened to be his first love. She was very much in love with him, but she was also a pragmatic woman who had the sense not to get involved in politics but found herself wound up in it anyway, because when the police arrested Salvador, she also got arrested. I very much like the way this film describes all the aspects of the character's life, those things that happen by chance, because we end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. I met Montse Plaza before shooting began. I didn't want to meet her—because after all it's a film in which she is a character and I don't want to feel the moral obligation weighing on my shoulders when I play a scene and it's too much of a burden to have to interpret a person and do that person justice in five sequences—but to tell the truth, I was delighted to meet her. It troubled me a little but it was a great pleasure for me. This film is important. My character is a minor one – there are almost seventy actors, I think, in this rough and objective mosaic. This film is an objective mosaic representing the life of a very interesting man whom I was glad to have the occasion to meet.
