Iceland’s entry for this year’s Academy Awards nominations in the Best Foreign Language Film category is
Óskar Jónasson’s
Reykjavik-Rotterdam [

The comedy-drama was awarded five Eddas by the Icelandic film academy last year, including Best Director and Best Screenplay, co-written by Jónasson and popular Icelandic novelist Arnaldur Indridason (
Jar City [
trailer]). Released by
Sena in Iceland, the title was the seventh most popular film of 2008 with over 27,000 admissions.
