Dogtooth wins Best Film at Stockholm

was awarded the Bronze Horse for Best Feature Film at the 20th Stockholm International Film Festival, which closed November 29 after 10 days of programming and over 180 films.

The festival jury called Dogtooth a “thought-provoking and engaging film that takes us, with a highly singular film language, into a nightmarish and metaphorical experiment of manipulation and oppression.”

Mexican film Sin Nombre by Cary Joji Fukunaga was bestowed three awards: Best Debut Feature, Best Actor (Edgar Flores) and the FIPRESCI Prize. French DoP Christophe Beaucarne picked up Best Cinematography for his work on Jaco van Dormael’s Mr. Nobody [+see also:

by up-and-coming UK filmmaker Eran Creevy won Best Script.
