The film recounts a family’s night of distress, as they find themselves victims of an express kidnapping, a phenomenon that has quickly become more widespread in Spain in recent years. Here, the attackers not only break into and steal from people’s homes, but they also kidnap the occupants for very short periods of time, usually less than a day, enough time for a member of the family to hand over all the money they own. There are few cases in which these kidnappings don’t involve serious injuries.

Secuestrados stars Fernando Cayo, Ana Wagener, Manuela Vellés and Guillermo Barrientos. Vivas has also hired DoP Pedro Márquez and art director Miguel Riesco. The film’s producers are Borja Pena and Emma Lustres.
