Jaime Marqués' feature debut
Thieves will compete for the Golden Leopard at the upcoming Locarno Film Festival (August 1-11).
Already a winner of the Jury Award of the latest Malaga Spanish Film Festival, the film follows the experiences of Alex, recently out of an orphanage, and Sara, a rich, kleptomaniac student. Despite their very different backgrounds, the two characters will meet, team up to steal and fall in love.
The two Spanish versions of Bonny and Clyde are played by Juan José Ballesta (Best actor in San Sebastian 2005 for
