La Foresta di ghiaccio is a thriller set along the Bissina dam in Val Daone, where trouble on an electric plant let emerge a series of mysteries in the region. “We wanted to make a genre film, a thriller, to give it an international air, locating it in a relatively undefined place, which could be Mitteleuropa, as much as North America or Canada,” Noce said.

''The idea for the film’s story,” the director continued, “was born two years ago, but we didn’t know where to base it. After a survey along the Val Daone mountains, I felt like that was the right place for the story. The mountain contributed to enhance the film-like aspects of the thriller.”

Distribution is being done by Bolero Film, but Andrea Paris and Matteo Rovere’s Ascent Film is set to find another foreign distributor, “to bring the film outside of Italian borders.”
