Working behind the scenes since yesterday in the informal market of the Toronto Film Festival, the international sales team of EuropaCorp does not lack assets. The line-up notably features the anticipation thriller Lucy by Luc Besson whose filming will take place from September to December with Scarlett Johansson (appreciated this week in competition in Venice with Under the Skin [+see also:

), Morgan Freeman and Choi Min-Sik. Written by the director, the screenplay focuses on a young woman living in Taiwan and forced to work for the Triads of the very dangerous Mr Wang. But Lucy absorbs a massive dose of an experimental drug and her brain’s abilities multiply, giving her access to a very advanced form of consciousness. Tracked by Wang and his gang but helped by a neuroscientist and a Parisian policeman, she will attempt to survive long enough to share her new knowledge. Produced by EuropaCorp, the feature is coproduced by TF1 Film Productions and Grive Production.

Also in the line-up, French title 35 mm by Pierre Rambaldi whose filming should begin in October with rising star Pierre Niney, experienced actor Jean Reno and popular actress Catherine Frot in the cast. Written by Michel Siksik, this thriller’s screenplay (produced by Big World) recounts the mishaps of a duo of journalists (a famous reporter and a young journalist who annoys his partner) who have to cover a hostage situation.

by Luc Besson (to be released in France on October 23 starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones), Three Days to Kill by McG (in post-production with Kevin Costner, Amber and Hailee Steinfeld in the cast – read the article), Saint Laurent by Bertrand Bonello (read the news) and The Homesman by Tommy Lee Jones (in post-production starring the director himself, Hilary Swank and Meryl Streep).

EuropCorp’s line-up (with a total of 13 titles) also features amongst others The Marchers by Belgian director Nabil Ben Yadir (in post-production – read the article), Brick Mansions by Camille Delamarre (an English-language remake of Banlieue 13 - in post-production with Paul Walker and David Belle), the 3D animated movie in production The Prince and the 108 Demons by Pascal Morelli and the project Sea At War by Louis Leterrier (with a screenplay by Besson and Robert Mark Kamen) which will follow a woman who is transformed into a mermaid and her human fiancé, taking part in an epic battle between sea creatures and ships.
