Simon Pegg and Robin Williams will do Absolutely Anything
- Comic stars to feature in revival of popular Monty Python franchise
Popular British comic actor Simon Pegg has joined the cast of Absolutely Anything [+see also:

film profile], the latest film in the anarchic cult comedy franchise. Pegg will play Neil Clarke, a disillusioned schoolteacher who suddenly finds he has magical powers, bestowed upon him by some aliens. The familiar Monty Python line up of John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Michael Palin will voice the aliens, with Jones directing. Robin Williams will also star as the voice of Clarke’s faithful dog. Pre-production starts February 2, 2014, with principal photography commencing in London on March 23.
Pegg said, “As someone whose love of comedy was hugely informed by Monty Python, the chance to work with Terry was a gift. Meeting your heroes is one thing, working with them is something else.”
Ben Timlett and Bill Jones at Bill & Ben Productions are producing with Mike Medavoy serving as executive producer alongside Chris Chesser. Timlett said, “We are extremely excited that Terry Jones’ and Gavin Scott’s script will soon be brought to life. Their collaboration has created a laugh-out-loud storyline, wonderfully quirky characters and dialogue that not everyone will be expecting.”
GFM Films are handling worldwide sales and pre-sales were closed at the American Film Market for Australia (Icon), Scandinavia (Svensk), Iceland (Myndform), German speaking territories (Telepool) and CIS (Exponenta), amongst several other territories.
