Paul Negoescu is developing his second feature, Never Let It Go, already the winner of €10,000 in post-production services at the most recent edition of Sofia Meetings, the Sofia International Film Festival co-production market (read the report). Negoescu is producing the independent feature through his own production company, Papillon Film, together with Radu Stancu.

Never Let It Go follows the story of 38-year-old Petru, a sex addict who finds out that he is going to have a baby with his on-off girlfriend Irina. Petru decides to sort his life out, get married and try to have a conventional relationship, but this proves more difficult than expected.

The director may start shooting in autumn (when he turns 30) or next spring, all depending on how soon the budget becomes available. The screenplay development may be backed by the Romanian National Film Center, which will announce the winners of its most recent grant session at the end of March.

, Never Let It Go will be made by a team of very young film professionals, with Ana Draghici as the DoP. "It is a special project, which can only be made by a small team of passionate people, similar to a student film. I don't necessarily want to produce my own films, but this is the reason why I chose to produce independently and not go to an established production company,” explained Negoescu, who has already made multi-award-winning shorts and his first feature with Hi Film Productions.
