Adapted by the director from the story Sur mes quatre jambes by Bernard Sachsé and Véronique Pellerin, the story of En équilibre revolves around Marc, a horse-riding stuntman. Following a serious accident during a film shoot, he loses all hope of ever getting back on a horse again. His insurance company has put Florence in charge of his file, but Florence does not usually get emotionally involved in work that she is entrusted with. The film is the story of their meeting – the story of two beings that rediscover their balance...

Produced by Isabelle Grellat, Eric Altmayer and Nicolas Altmayer for Mandarin Cinéma, En équilibre is benefitting from co-productions by France 3 Cinéma and Cinéfrance 1888, pre-purchases by Canal+ and Ciné+, and backing by the Pays de la Loire region. The seven weeks of shooting will take place in Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Malo. Distribution in France and international sales will be handled by StudioCanal (also coproducer)

Mandarin Cinéma currently has a post-production line-up that includes Saint Laurent by Bertrand Bonello (read the news – in theatres on 1 October via EuropaCorp Distribution), Maestro by Léa Fazer (starring Pio Marmaï, Michael Lonsdale and Déborah François – read the article), the comedy Fast Life by Thomas Ngijol (with the director playing the role of a thirty-year-old getting it into his head that he wants to take part in the 100-metre race at the Olympic Games – to be released by EuropaCorp on 16 July), and The New Girlfriend by François Ozon (an adaptation of a Ruth Rendell short story starring Romain Duris, Raphaël Personnaz and Anaïs Demoustier – to be released by Mars Distribution on 5 November 2014). Lastly, featuring among the projects in development is Chocolat by Roschdy Zem, starring Omar Sy (The Intouchables [+see also:
