SPIDE Day-and-date”, a consortium formed by Speed Bunch and TIDE, is thus releasing the German-Austrian documentary Master of the Universe [+see also:

by Marc Bauder via VoD (on the FilmoTV, Google Play, iTunes, Orange TV’s VoD service, Vodeo.tv and UniversCiné platforms, as well as over the Vidéo en Poche network) today; the movie will then hit theatre screens on 26 November, courtesy of Héliotrope Films. Last year, the film, a portrait of the global financial system and the tailspin it went into, took home the Jury Prize at the Locarno Film Festival’s Critics’ Week.

“By choosing to bring out Marc Bauder’s documentary on VoD and then in cinemas in quick succession, what we’ve done is counted on the echo effect that cinemas, the six VoD platforms and the Vidéo en Poche network will, together, generate for the film. Just like the distributors who got involved in this adventure before us, our aim is to carry on offering as many varied works as possible. Every single viewer, wherever they may be, and whatever their habits or their obligations, will have access to it,” explained Laurent Aléonard, of Héliotrope Films.
