Michael Lennox has commenced principal photography at Northern Ireland locations for his debut feature A Patch of Fog [+see also:

. Lennox’s short Back of Beyond was nominated for best short film at the European Film Awards and won awards at the Locarno International Film Festival and at the Royal Society of Television Awards. Lennox’s recent short Boogaloo and Graham is on the long list in the Live Action Short category at the Academy Awards.

The screenplay for A Patch of Fog, by Michael McCartney and John Cairns, was developed through Northern Ireland Screen’s New Talent Focus scheme. The film is a psychological thriller about a celebrated novelist and television personality who finds his reputation on the line and his life invaded by a lonely security guard when caught shoplifting. Stephen Graham (Get Santa), Conleth Hill (Salmon Fishing in the Yemen [+see also:

) and Ian McElhinney (Leap Year [+see also:

) star. 

Robert Jones (The Hooligan Factory), Wayne Marc Godfrey (The Anomaly [+see also:

), and David Gilbery (X Moor) are producing. A Patch of Fog will shoot entirely in Northern Ireland with funding from the UK’s The Fyzz Facility, the Northern Ireland Screen Fund supported by Invest NI and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, and the British Film Institute.
