23/09/2015 - The Reaper has won Best Minority Co-production, while Home has bagged the Best Documentary and Audience Award

film profile] by first-time writer, director and editor Tomaž Gorkič, winning the main award, the Vesna for Best Feature Film.

The film also received Best Supporting Actor for Jurij Drevenšek, Best Supporting Actress for Nika Rozman and Best Production Design for Gregor Nartnik.

“If the answer to our social reality is to die somewhere in the Slovenian woods, it is appropriate that instead of committing suicide, we might perish under the sharp head of the axe, while the answer to impotent social critique is provided by Vintlr, who shows us what a real man is. Gravely and ironically, just as films of this genre should, Idyll offers us, on a plate, a specific outlook on the world that we all live in,” said the jury, comprising DoP Simon Pintar, author Polona Petek, film critic Varja Močnik, director Siniša Gačić and young writer-director Gregor Božič.

One of Slovenia's internationally best-known filmmakers, Jan Cvitkovič, who was also in the feature competition with Šiška Deluxe [+see also:

film profile], won Best Director for his short Love on the Roof of the World. The same film also received the Vesna Award for Best Short Film, Best Lead Actor for Ivo Barišič and Best Music for Niko Novak.

Best Screenplay also went to a short film: Schoolmates by writer-director Darko Sinko. Meanwhile, Mojca Fatur from Miha Knific's Four Things I Wanted to Do with You won the Best Lead Actress Award and the Stop Magazine Award for Best Actress of the Year.

film profile] received the Slovenian Art Cinema Network Award, and the film's DoP, Marko Brdar, picked up the Best Cinematography Award. The Vesna Award for Best Editing was bestowed upon Jurij Moškon for his work on Boris Petkovič's teenage hit The Beat of Love.

The Association of Slovenian Film Critics gave its award to Case: Osterberg by Matej Nahtigal, while Zippity Zappity by Jernej Žmitek and Boris Dolenc won Best Animated Film, and Best Experimental Film went to Mitja Manček's Composition. 

The Vesna Award for Best Student Film and the Restart Award for Best Student Film were handed out to Distant Memory by Valérie Wolf Gang. Finally, the Vesna Award for Special Achievements went to The Little Prince by Matej Peljhan.
