by Paolo Genovese, another phenomenon of the season with €16 million in takings, which also won the David for Best Screenplay. “A film about secrets and lies”, declared the director as he took to the stage, visibly surprised and emotional, “but one that I want to dedicate to the truth” (all those who participated in the evening paraded down the red carpet wearing a sticker saying “Truth for Giulio Regeni”). 

This year’s Italian candidate for the Oscars, Don’t Be Bad by Claudio Caligari, was surprisingly only awarded one David, for Best Sound. Youth [+see also:
