, people are eager to find out what the new feature by Galicia’s Dani de la Torre, starring the same lead actor, fellow Galician Luis Tosar, will be able to offer. The film will be called La sombra de la ley (lit. “The Shadow of the Law”) and will unfold in the underworld of Barcelona in 1921, a time when the local mafia was up to its usual tricks and the trade unions were beginning to mobilise. In the film, the robbery of a train laden with weaponry will serve as the trigger for a police inquiry.

De la Torre claims, “I’ve always been fascinated by gangster films, by the 1920s, prohibition, and all the power struggles, corruption and death. In this setting, our protagonist will have a difficult mission ahead of him, which will lead him to rub shoulders with unscrupulous businessmen, hired guns, dangerous anarchists and corrupt policemen. He will embark on a unique journey, where the only law that prevails is the law of firearms. La sombra de la ley will have a very contemporary pace and action scenes: it will be like a period Bourne movie, where classic elements will go hand in hand with frenetic editing, thanks to some gutsy, agile camera work.”

The main cast of the film is rounded off by Michelle Jenner, Vicente Romero, Ernesto Alterio, Paco Tous and the winner of the Goya Award for The Fury of a Patient Man [+see also:
