Italian comedies are unstoppable

07/03/2011 - After its second weekend, Giovanni Veronesi’s comedy Manual of Love 3 [trailer] reached a total €5.8m at the box office, and entered the season’s top ten grossers.
Lucio Pellegrini’s The Easy Life [trailer] took top spot among the week’s openers, with €883,000, exceeding competitors The Fighter and Piranha 3D, and the second overall spot after Manual of Love 3. In at number four among the new releases is Andrea Molaioli’s Il Gioiellino [trailer] (€320,088).
Other Italian comedies are continue to gain ground, such as Paolo Genovese’s Immaturi [trailer], which took in €117,000 during the weekend for a total €14.8m; and Fausto Brizzi’s Femmine Contro Maschi [trailer], which has clocked up €11.2m so far.
Shooting of Immaturi 2 is scheduled for August while Brizzi will also soon be on set for his next comedy, Sex 3D.
