Visions of Paris
- Cinema under the Stars is a great success with 18 screenings from August 6 to 18 in famous Parisian locations
Place des Vosges, Jardins du Trocadéro, outside Notre Dame... these are just some of the sites where Parisians will be able to delight in the 10th edition of Cinéma au Clair de lune – Cinema under the Stars, a 1000-seat open air film arena that has been touring some of Paris’ most famous landmarks since August 6 and each night sets up anew to screen a wonderful film – both old and new, including the work of Melville, Truffaut, Carné and Duvivier. The one thing each of these films has in common is that it was made in that very same Paris location. The event got off to a great start when 8000 more people than there were seats for gathered to see last season’s national (and indeed worldwide) feelgood hit, Amélie de Montmartre. Needless to say, the screening took place in... Montmartre! The event was organised and entirely funded by the “Forum des images” and the municipal authorities and includes a total of eighteen screenings that will end on August 25 – and best of all, it’s free of charge.
