- “Prix Europa” showcases Europe's best TV productions in Berlin from October 12-19

Two Finnish television programmes were selected to take part in competition at the 14th edition of Prix Europa, scheduled to take place in Berlin from October 12-19. Aita by Matti Ijäs is a drama about an April-September romance between a middle-aged man and a young girl that was produced by TV1 and will be screened in the Fiction. Barbro Björkfelt’s documentary entitled Jag fajtas för mina bröder och systrar, produced by Finland’s Swedish television, was selected for the “IRIS” section that is specialised in multicultural programmes.
Since its inception Prix Europa has grown to the degree that the 2000 edition saw 800 participants from 40 countries present 641 radio and TV programmes. This event provides Europe’s broadcasters and film and documentary makers to meet and examine what lies ahead for the industry and rewards and showcases the very best television (and radio) programmes produced in Europe. Prix Europa plays an important role in finding foreign markets for these productions. The television section consists of the following competitive categories: Fiction, non-Fiction, Current Affairs and IRIS (for multicultural programmes).
