29/08/2002 - Auf Herz und Nieren, the latest zany comedy by German dreamteam, Schweiger & Jahn, goes into production today

After having delighted 3 million German filmgoers with their 1997 Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, the dream team of producer Til Schweiger and director Thomas Jahn has come together again to start filming Auf Herz und Nieren on August 29. Produced by Senator Film, this grotesque comedy manages to bring together an unlikely set of elements that includes the Pope, a suitcase full of baking soda, four intellectually-challenged friends and the Mafia. The cast is a good mix of some of Europe’s finest character actors like Udo Kier, Steffen Wink, Jochen Nickel, Xavier Naidoo and Hollywood’s very own Burt Reynolds.
