Two documentaries get export funding

A total of €25,000 has been awarded by the Federal Office for Culture and the promotion agency Swiss Films for the international release of two documentaries.

Released in France in April and presented at numerous festivals, Juan José Lonzano’s Unwanted Witness [+see also:

looks at the investigative work of journalist Hollman Morris, who is renowned for his denunciation of the terror reigning over Colombia.

Launched on US screens in May, Ulrich Grossenbacher and Damaris Lüthi’s Hippie Masala paints the colourful portrait of a group of old hippies from the 1970s who ended up settling in India. The title won the Swiss Film Prize for Best Documentary in 2006.

Since 2007, Swiss Films has been promoting the theatrical distribution of Swiss films and majority co-productions abroad. To this end, the agency has an annual budget of €195,000.
