Mészáros unveils The Last Report on Anna

Hitting Hungarian theatres today is the latest work by Márta Mészáros (78), who received a Golden Bear for Lifetime Achievement at the Berlinale 2007.

The Last Report on Anna (formerly known as Hope - see news) focuses on the historical figure of Anna Kéthly, a social democrat who fought against the fascist and communist dictatorships, before going into exile after the failure of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. In the 1970s, a young Hungarian secret agent tried to get her to return home, seeking perhaps to discredit her.

Released by its producer Hunnia Filmstúdió, the film stars Enikö Eszenyi, Ernõ Fekete, Zsuzsa Czinkóczi, György Cserhalmi and Gabriella Hamori.
