Marco Tullio Giordana takes on Piazza Fontana

Marco Tullio Giordana is set to make a documentary film about the bombing attack in Piazza Fontana in Milan on December 12, 1969. Despite a toll of 17 dead and 86 wounded, the identity of the guilty parties has never been determined. The project was announced by the president of Cattleya, Riccardo Tozzi, during the conference devoted to Piazza Fontana at the Courmayeur Noir in Festival. ) will be penning the screenplay based on the exposé by reporter Paolo Cucchiarelli "Il segreto di Piazza Fontana", the film rights to which have been acquired by Cattleya.

The film is scheduled to start shooting in late August 2010, while the cast has not yet been assembled. The illustrious precedent the director has in mind for this project is JFK by Oliver Stone. The film will be co-produced by Rai Cinema along with a French partner and is set to be distributed by 01, while Universal has espressed interest in foreign distribution.
