Swiss films at Berlin

For the first time since 2007, Switzerland will be represented at the Berlinale (February 11-21, 2010) by several films.

, co-produced by Switzerland (Vega Film) and Italy (Lumière & Co.), will screen in world première in the Berlinale Special section.

Swiss director Nicolas Wadimoff’s feature Aisheen [Still Alive in Gaza] [+see also:

, co-directed by Béatrice Guelpa, will compete in the 40th International Forum of New Cinema. Produced by Al Jazeera Children’s Channel (Qatar) and Akka Films (Switzerland), this title has also been selected for the Visions du Réel International Documentary Film Festival in Nyon (April 15-21).

Finally, Benny Jaberg and Pascal Hofmann’s Daniel Schmid, a cinematic portrait of the renowned Swiss filmmaker who died in 2006, will be unveiled in the Berlinale Panorama Documentaries section. The film was produced by T&C Film.
