- At the 8th meeting in Saint Tropez, the French will try to improve their foreign sales for audio-visual productions

TV France International has a announced a small drop, of –2 percent, in the export of French audio-visual programmes for 2001. The annual study conducted by TVFI, CNC and the National Audio-Visual Institute, has confirmed that the total sales of French Audio-visual programmes abroad were worth Euro 126.7m in 2001. However the decrease was compensated by a rise of 21,8 percent, in contributions to co-productions for French works (both in co-productions and pre-sales).
The 8th meeting organised by TV France International, being held in Saint Tropez this week, has brought together 103 foreign TV channels from 46 countries together with more than 51 French production and distribution companies. On the feature film front there are all the professionals form the sector: from MK2 to UGC International, to Pathé International, Mercury Distribution, Roissy Films, Les Film du Losange and Films Distribution. Films which are for sale include successful titles like Vidocq, Roberto Succo, Our lady of the assassins , The girl from Paris, 17 times Cécile Cassard and Playtime. It’s seen as a great opportunity for foreign buyers to discover the diversity of French creativity.
