Olive Films acquires R and Honey

from The Match Factory and Danish prison drama R from TrustNordisk.

Olive Films said they plan to release Semih Kaplanoglu’s Turkish film Honey in the US in 2011. The relatively new US distribution outfit picked up several other quality films from The Match Factory: Egg [+see also:

, the preceding films of Kaplanoglu’s “Yusuf Trilogy”; as well as last year’s Golden Bear winner The Milk of Sorrow [+see also:

Olive Films’ managing director Farhad Arshad also picked up Michael Nor and Tobias Lindholm’s debut feature R. The film was awarded the Dragon Award for Best Nordic Film at the 2010 Gothenburg International Film Festival. TrustNordisk also sold the film to NinetySeven in France.
