Filmstiftung NRW holds its International Film Conference

The International Film Conference of Filmstiftung NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia’s regional film fund) will be held in Cologne from June 26-29, as part of the 22nd Media Forum NRW. Under this umbrella, there will also be three other conferences, on advertising, new media and television.

The event opens with the screening of Sophie Heldman’s German/Swiss production Satte Farben vor Schwarz, at the Cinenova movie theatre at 6.30pm on June 26.

The line-up of meetings and events includes a presentation of the region’s localization plan, discussions about technology versus content in the audiovisual sector, and aesthetic innovation in the so-called new media. Also up for discussion is the present and future of Internet marketing of audiovisual works.

This year, Spain is the guest country: various members of the Spanish audiovisual industry will explain the ins and outs of production in Spain and the opportunities for co-production. Moreover, director-producers Peter Sehr and Marie Noëlle will present a case study of their film The Anarchist’s Wife [+see also:

Throughout the whole event, there will be several working breakfasts and meetings for business people and producers, such as Creatives go UK, where the region’s producers and business people will get the chance to seek out partners and co-producers from among the members of the UK delegation invited to the event.
