Cleveland Versus Wall Street scoops Audience Award at Paris Cinéma

While the Jury Prize at the 8th Paris Cinéma festival went to Korean director Zhang Lu’s Dooman River (minority co-produced by France via Arizona Films, who will release it in theatres on August 25), the Audience Award was presented to Swiss filmmaker Jean-Stéphane Bron’s Cleveland Versus Wall Street [+see also:

with its highly original look at the subprime crisis.

Unveiled in the latest Cannes Directors’ Fortnight (see review), Cleveland Versus Wall Street was co-produced by Switzerland (51%) and France (49%). The feature was produced by Paris-based Les Films Pelléas and Saga Production in co-production with Arte France Cinéma, Jouror Productions and TSR, with backing from the OFC and France’s National Film and Moving Image Centre (CNC). It is sold internationally by Films Distribution and will be launched in French theatres on August 18 by Les Films du Losange.
