FSS for 28 films at the Asian Film Market

by

In the second year of Film Sales Support's (FSS) newly established market support strand, applications for the marketing of European films at the Asian Film Market in Pusan have soared by more than 50%. This year, 28 films are benefiting from the sales support scheme, which forms part of European Film Promotion's (EFP) world wide promotional activities for European films, initiated and backed by its 31 European member organisations.

Funded by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union, FSS offers financial incentives to European sales agents which market films from their catalogues to buyers from Korea and other Asian countries. The support covers up to 50% of costs for market screenings and badges at the Asian Film Market in addition to the usual promotional measures. 17 different European sales agents are benefitting from FSS this year, amongst them newcomer, The Yellow Affair, based in Finland and Sweden. Danish sales company Copenhagen Bombay, and French outfit Kinology are receiving FSS for the first time at the Asian Film Market.
