On October 11, Nicolas Provost started the seven-week shoot for his debut feature, The Invader.

Inspired by his short film Exoticore (which won numerous awards at international festivals), The Invader traces the descent into hell of Amadou, an African illegal immigrant in Brussels, who believes he can find the life he hopes for after meeting beautiful businesswoman Agnès. However, he finds himself drawn into a spiral of violence which turns him into the dangerous individual society has always projected onto him.

The cast also includes Italian actress Stefania Rocca (The Talented Mr Ripley, The Candidate).

Belgian visual artist Provost has written numerous short and medium-length films which have screened across the world and earned him an international reputation on the video art scene in particular. With his debut feature, he continues his collaboration with Versus Production, who produced his previous short, Induction.

The Invader is produced by Jacques-Henri and Olivier Bronckart (Versus), in co-production with Nino Lombardo (Belgium’s Prime Time) and Helena Danielsson (Sweden’s Hepp Film). The film has received backing from the Belgian French Community Film and Audiovisual Centre and Walloon TV distributors, as well as the Vlaams Audiovisual Fund, Bruxellimage and the Belgian Federal Government’s Tax Shelter.

The Invader will be distributed in Belgium by O’Brother.
