Croze stars in Amigorena’s Another Silence
by Fabien Lemercier
28/10/2010 - On November 22, Santiago Amigorena will start shooting in Argentina on his second feature: Another Silence.
The director, who shot to attention with A Few Days in September [trailer] (selected out of competition at Venice in 2006), started out as a screenwriter (working with Cédric Klapisch, and Juan Diego Solanas on Upside Down to be released in 2011). For his latest directorial outing, he has cast captivating Quebec-born actress Marie-Josée Croze (to be seen on French screens from December 15 in A View of Love [trailer]).
Scripted by Amigorena, the film centres on a North American policewoman whose life falls apart when her family is killed in a settling of scores. Determined to get revenge, she follows the murderers’ trail all the way to South America.
Produced by Laurent Lavolé for Gloria Films, Another Silence has co-production support from Canada (Max Films) and Argentina (Rizoma Films), and backing from Arte France and Canal +. In reverse order to the story, shooting will start in Argentina (from Buenos Aires to the Bolivian border) before relocating to Canada.
