This week on German and Austrian screens, Constantin is launching the latest film by popular director Dennis Gansel (The Wave [+see also:

film profile]), We Are the Night, which ventures into several different genres at once: vampire film, love story and thriller.

Scripted by Jan Berger (Kebab Connection), the film revolves around Lena (Karoline Herfurth), a 20-year-old Berliner who steals to survive. Everything changes when she meets Louise (Nina Hoss), who runs an illegal club and turns out to be a vampire, along with her friends Charlotte (Jennifer Ulrich) and Nora (Anna Fischer).

Louise soon falls in love with Lena, makes her immortal and introduces her to the life of pleasure led by these seductive night creatures. But Lena feels increasingly guilty and an attractive police detective (Max Riemelt) investigates the deaths of victims of her new friends. We Are the Night was produced by Christian Becker for Munich-based Rat Pack Filmproduktion.

From today, Austrian audiences will also get the chance to discover Ben Stassen’s Belgian 3D animated film Sammy’s Adventures: The Secret Passage [+see also:
