Money for film creation

by

Austria’s Secretary of State for Art, Franz Morak announced the creation of a film scholarship programme aimed at encouraging young Austrian filmmakers and creating a much-needed impulse for national cinematography. Innovative and artistic projects should be developed during the course of this program.
A total of Euros 95,000 will be made available for various projects over a ten-month period. Fictional films and documentaries will receive Euros 10,000 each and experimental projects, Euros 7,500. It is estimated that a maximum number of ten films, of all categories, will benefit from these scholarships with the money going to directors, scriptwriters and young film academy graduates. A film advisory committee will examine the submissions and make proposals as to which projects should receive the scholarships.
The deadline for submissions is 18 February 2003.
