Marin Karmitz is president of BLIC

by

There has been a reshuffle at France's main film industry associations after Marin Karmitz was appointed to the presidency of BLIC (France's Film Industry Coordinator), as successor to Antoine de Clermont-Tonnerre who was appointed to the presidency of BLOC.
The members of BLIC include France's independent producers' association, the National Federation of French Cinemas, the National Distributors' Federation and the Technical Associations of French Film, Audiovisual and Multimedia.
Marin Karmitz, who also heads France's National Film Distributors' Association, said that the main goals of BLIC were to defend France's technical industries "whose survival is threatened"; to find new sources of funding to ensure the future of cinema; to work towards achieving "the recognition of the specificity of film diffusion" and to find a definitive solution to "the issue of vertical integration of TV channels".
