12/11/2002 - Veteran filmmaker directs clip for singer, Pedro Abrunhosa, and prepares a new film with Deneuve, Malkovich & Sandrelli

Veteran Portuguese filmmaker, Manoel De Oliveira has directed his first videoclip, entitled Momento for the eponymous song by Pedro Abrunhosa. This is the second time the two have worked together, after Abrunhosa’s participation in De Oliveira’s latest film A Carta. The videoclip will be screened prior to the main programme in all Portuguese cinemas thanks to a joint venture between the Madraoca Group and Universal Music. It is hoped that this will give the audience an appreciation of these two artists’ work together.
In the meantime De Oliveira is about to begin production work on a new feature entitled Un filme falado, starring an international cast lead by Catherine Deneuve, John Malkovich, Irene Papas and Stefania Sandrelli as well as Portugal’s Leonor Silveira who starred in two of De Oliveira’s earlier films, The Principle of Uncertainty and Words and Utopia.
