The Autumn Screenings in Sorrento

Something close to 1000 guests - exhibitors, producers, distributors, filmmakers and journalists are about to descend on Sorrento for the 25th edition of the Autumn Screenings, scheduled to take place from 27-30 November.
The event is organised by the Italian exhibitors’ and distributors’ associations, respectively Anec and Unidim, for companies to showcase their forthcoming line ups for 2003.
This year’s premieres include Ripley’s Game by Liliana Cavani, The Ring by , Unfaithful by Adrian Lyne, My Big Fat Greek Wedding by Joel Zwick, Bend it Like Beckham by Gurinder Chadha, Darkness by Jaume Balaguerò, Tadpole by Gary Winick, L’auberge espagnole by Cédric Klapish, Disney’s latest animated feature, The Treasure Planet and a twenty-minute preview of Martin Scorsese’s The Gangs of New York.
The Screenings programme also includes numerous meetings and conferences; a seminar on Cinema and finance, another organised by Agiscuola where exhibitors will meet with students; press conferences and the presentation of a new industry guidebook by Anec and the 2002 Media Salles Yearbook.
Journalist Maurizio Di Rienzo will moderate a two-day meeting for Italian actors and directors on 29 and 30 Nobember. Carlo Verdone is scheduled to present his latest film, Ma che colpa abbiamo noi; Ferzan Ozpetek will talk about his latest film entitled La finestra di fronte in the company of his two leading actors Raoul Bova and Giovanna Mezzogiorno. Neri Marcoré and Vanessa Incontrada are scheduled to present Pupi Avati’s Il cuore altrove and Alessandro Benvenuti Ti dispiace se bacio mamma accompanied by his star, Natasha Stefanenko.
Alessandro Piva and his male lead, Luigi Lo Cascio will present Vito, morte e miracoli and Maria Sole Tognazzi Passato Prossimo with Gianmarco Tognazzi and Valentina Cervi.
The other titles being showcased are Dillo con parole mie by Daniele Luchetti, Prendimi l’anima by Riccardo Faenza, Liberi by Gianluca Tavarelli, Verso il nord by Stefano Reali, Renzo Martinelli with Piazza delle 5 Lune, Edoardo Winspeare with Il Miracolo and Luca and Marco Mazzieri with Giovani.
The event will end with the presentation of the Golden Keys and Tickets to the year’s best performing films. This year’s winners include Christian De Sica, Massimo Boldi, Leonardo Pieraccioni, Massimo Ceccherini, Giovanni Veronesi, Luisa Ranieri, Vincenzo Cerami, Alessandro Bergonzoni and Donatella Finocchiaro.
