APPOINTMENTS UK

Steve Abbott joins NFTC Board

by

The British Film Council has just announced the appointment of producer Steve Abbott (A Fish Called Wanda, Brassed Off) to the Board of the National Film Trustee Company (NFTC).
Fully-funded by the Film Council, the NFTC is a non-profit organisation specialising in collecting revenue earned by UK films both domestically and internationally and then returning it to the producers and financiers.
By appointing a well-established independent producer, the Film Council hopes to make UK producers more aware of the existence of the NFTC when setting up a production: “The NFTC plays a key part of many UK film financing packages and Steve’s influence on the production sector will encourage other producers to reap the rewards that its services can provide,” said the Film Council’s CEO John Woodward when announcing Abbott’s appointment.
